Memorial Day Weekend

It was family bonding weekend. To start the weekend off I stayedThursday night with na na and spent the entire day with her Friday. Then, mom and dad got an extra day off so we read a lot of books and did some yard work. I LOVE reading. I hand mom and dad a book, then turn around and sit on their lap so they can read it to me. I have books piled up in the living room and make them read them one by one to me. They love it, I think?
Now that I am a big boy, I love playing outside. I used to hate the grass, but now I sit in it, walk on it, and enjoy doing just about anything outside, even drinking out of River’s dog bowl! Mom will even spray me with the hose and I don’t mind. The colder the better I say.

Exploring, exploring, exploring

These days I love to be chased by mom and dad around the house. I like to get a head start and then wait in the hallway for them to catch up. I giggle a lot when I’m being chased. Opening up the fire place, sitting in my chair, and climbing on River’s bed are my favorite things to do now.

I can clearly say “dog.” And my mom and dad are trying to get me to say applesauce. I’m definitely making new sounds and can almost say
"sauce. " Mom and dad can say certain things to me like, “Go get your blanket” or “Get/ throw the ball” and I can do it. When reading my favorite book Dog, I pant when I get to the page that reads, “Dogs pant when they are warm.” Mom and dad have read this book to me since I was big enough to sit in a high chair. They had to buy another copy because when I was teething I used it to chew on. p.s. I think I am getting close to cutting my molars, hence the big bumps on my gums. Will you tell mom and dad to up the Tylenol dossage?

My Buddy!

I love my dog, River. As you can see, River lets me snuggle with her. Sometimes I get a little rough with River, but I just love her so much I can’t help but give her a big squeeze.

Mother's Day

Today I woke up full of spunk. Mom was suppose to sleep in while dad made her breakfast in bed, but I was a little too full of energy to just sit there so mom came downstairs to play with me. Dad made us French toast and eggs. I liked the eggs, but wasn't too sure about the French toast. Mom usually just spreads jam on it and calls it good. But, thanks dad for trying! I know it made mom happy.

We then had some quality family time in the living room. River and I played fetch, again. I sure do love throwing the ball for River and she seems more willing to play with me now that she doesn’t feel I am trying to steal her tennis balls. I throw the ball for River, wait for her to go get and then try to beat her to it laughing all the way.

Then, Na Na Daniels came over and we all went out to lunch. The service was slow, but mom kept saying I was doing such a good job. I gave her a cheesy smile every time she said that. I also really enjoyed it when people would stop by and say hello to me. When they tried to walk away I yelled, “ehh!”

When we got home, we took a family picture in front of my favorite tree. Dad takes me out to see it every morning and I always point up.

Bath time gets more fun!

I love bath time. I walk in to the bathroom and wait by the side of the tub as mom takes my clothes off. I help a little by lifting my foot so she can slide my pant leg and sock(s) off. Then, I do a little jig (bounce up and down holding on to the side of the tub) and in I go. I splash around and recently mom has been showing me how to recline and lay backwards in the water. It is sooooo relaxing. She gently pushes me back and forth in the water as I stare up at the ceiling. Then, she asks me if I want to get out and I stand up if I do. Once I am out of the tub, I like to immediately lie down on the towel, have mom wrap my towel around me, and lie there while she rubs my back. I really enjoy lying on my stomach. It feels good and is relaxing. I also try to do it when mom changes me. Hee Hee.

Oh no you didn't!

When I am playing in the dining room mom and dad close the door so I can't get into the kitchen. Huh, they are so foolish. Little do they know that these tiny arms are quite strong. I can push open the swinging door and walk right in. They have tried to move my house in front of it, but I just slide it out of the way. Ahhhh, parents are so silly. They think they can out smart us little people, WHAT?, WAIT A MINUTE…WHAT IS THIS MOMMMMMM? A baby gate, with bars? You didn’t? You wouldn’t? My life is over!

I will feed myself, thank you!

Okay, so I am a big boy now, which means that I should get to feed myself. Right? Mom and dad, on the other hand, think they should continue to feed me because..."it is cleaner and faster." BUT, I'M THE BIG BOY! So, I humor them for a little while and then when they least expect it, I grab the spoon. Ah ha! They usually give in and help me get the food on my spoon and direct it into my mouth, but when I'm feeling crazy I will grab for the bowl and jerk my hand away. The food goes flying and lands on the wall, mom’s shirt, and River’s head. Today dad and I played tug of war with the bowl of applesauce. He was laughing, but he wouldn't let go of the bowl, which made me mad so I let out a yell. Mom was looking on and thought it was pretty funny too. I wish I could say, "Give me the bowl dad."

Sick Kiddo

Well, it seems that every two weeks or so I am coming down with a cold. I have the usual runny nose and congestion that lasts about a week or so. I get better and then boom, I'm sick again. My doctor says, "Pay now or pay later," but I'm willing to wait.

Tuesday night, right before bed I had a little surprise for mom...I threw up all over her. She was covered from head to toe. Sorry mom, but thanks for letting me cuddle with you even though you, dad, and eventually na na Daniels all got the flu too.

Besides my weekly illnesses, mom says I am growing like a weed. After throwing up at daycare dad took me to the doctor where I weighed in at 24.7 pounds. I like to eat and can hardly wait for mom to poor me a glass of milk. I still don’t like whole pieces of fruit or vegetables and when instantly spit them out. So, mom has learned to puree the vegetable soup she makes for me.

I can walk/ run really fast now. The other day at daycare I was waiting for mom at the door. I saw her down the hall so Teacher Aimee put me down to walk to her. I walked so fast my little legs almost fell off. It sure did bring a big smile to mom's face. I still enjoy the park and have learned to hang from the monkey bars. Though I love the park, I have enjoyed spending time with my dog River. She is great! I like to rub her back for her, pat her head, throw her tennis ball, and rest my head on her. Most of the time she doesn’t mind, but when my rubbing turns into pinching her skin she sure lets me know she isn’t happy. She quickly gets up to move, which means her bed is free for me to lie on.
