A walk in the living room...On Sunday I walked across the living room. It was about 7-8 steps and man I was cook’n. I generally walk about 3-4 steps, do this wobble dance and either fall forward, which I really like to do or walk 3-4 more steps. If it wasn’t for this separation anxiety I might like walking more.

Right on target...my mom read in some book that at a year old babies start to get seperation anxiety and boy are they right. I'm not too happy if mommy leaves the room or isn't holding me. I won't even go to nana Daniels, which is very odd. This morning I got upset when both mommy and daddy left for work. I've never gotten upset before. I sure hope this doesn't last long because there is some talk of mommy and daddy going to Italy! I'm not sure what that is all about, but I'm sure they will be taking me.

My favorite thing to do in the evenings is take a bath. I LOVE to splash the water. By the end of my bath my eyes are usually red from all the water getting in them.

Recently, I fake like I am going to walk to mommy or daddy and then I dive back to the couch. Whoosh, that was a close call. Mom and dad get a kick out of it so I like to do it a lot.

Wow, I had no idea brushing your teeth could be so much fun. Usually I grab the toothbrush from mom and show her how it's done. Those bristles sure do feel good on my gums.

My goals for the start of my new year...

I just turned 1 year old and life is pretty good. I'm still working on taking more than 3 steps, but dad says I will be walking in a couple of weeks. Watch out world! Or shall I say anything that might trip me up during my exploration of the house.

So far the only two words I say are "da da" and "ma ma." Although most of the time I call mom "na na." When I want my sippy cup or the phone I make sure to YELL "mama." The doctor told mom and dad to make me show them what I want and gave me permission to call everything "da da." Thanks doc, but could you please refrain from shoving sharp needles in my leg everytime I see you?
