Long Beach

Saturday mom and I went to the beach to visit pa pa in Long Beach. We had a lot of fun. It was kite festival week so there were kites flying all around us. I brought my bucket with me so I could scoop sand into it, but I think I enjoyed running from the water more. I would say, “here it comes” and then I would take off running.

Later on we went to lunch and then on some fun rides like the carousel, a racecar and a whale. I was a little scared when the whale took off because it was quite abrupt. And, like the Clark County fair I was up passed my nap and a little sleepy so I kept saying, “up, down, up, down” as the whale went around and up and down. Eventually I looked like I was going to fall asleep.

I had a great time and can't wait to go to the beach again next summer.

Doors are Overrated

Recently I have decided that if I want to go outside and play then I should be able to do it whenever I want. But, it is a little hard for me to open up the back door. So, in order to get to the backyard I simply crawl through the doggy door. It works quite well. Mom and dad are not too pleased with this new idea of mine so they put the slider in the doggy door so I can't get out. Duh guys, all I have to do is lift it out. Because there are stairs leading down to the basement mom wanted to make sure that if I did venture down there I could get in and out without stumbling through the doggy door so she taught me to open the door and shut it. She figures it is safer to go through a real door than River's since we had a little run in. It turns out that River wanted the stick I was bringing in the house so she decided to go through the door at the same time I was. River won in case you are keeping score.

And now I am going back inside...

Clark County Fair

Oh boy did I have a fun Saturday. Mom, Nanny, Dan, Johnny (Dan's brother), and I went to the Clark County Fair and we had a blast. It was a perfect day!

Right away I got to ride a pony and this time mom didn't have to hold on to me. They put a seatbelt on me and around and around I went. I kept saying, "wee"..."fun."

Next, after visiting all the horses, pigs, cows, chickens, rabbits, etc. I went on a race car. I took this job very seriously. All the other kids were looking around, but not me. I kept my hands on the steering wheel and just as my drivers instructor taught me, I did hand over hand the entire ride. In fact, after about the 15th time around I started to get really sleepy. Mom and everyone were laughing pretty hard at me because I was seconds away from falling alseep.

Then, Johnny and I went on a train ride. That was a lot of fun because I love trains.

Then mom and I went on an airplane. I thought this was pretty neat. As we went around I was mesmerized by all the really big rides.

Then to end the rides we went on the carousel. I rode a giraffe and mom a bunny.

After all of those rides I was pretty hot so we sat down in some shade and ate some icecream. I love icecream, but I have never had my very own icecream cone before. Dad has really been holding out on me. He just gives me a spoonful.

There was a lady sitting next to me who thought I was pretty cute eating my icecream so I decided to ham it up for her. Then on the way home I played my flute that nanny bought me. After a few minutes I decided to pretend like I was sleeping.

Pretending...
Still pretending, but a little more convincing...

Actually sleeping...

Animal Farm

Mom thinks I am going through a growth spurt so she tried my winter jacket on to see if it will fit me. It fits me perfect right now so we will see. She snapped this shot of me and thought I looked like my dad.
Nana took me to see some animals at Dan's house. It was a lot of fun. I even got to sit on a horse.
