My 1st Plane Trip ~ Spokane 2006

Mom, Na Na, and myself flew over to Spokane this weekend to vsiit my Aunt and Uncle. While it was a short flight, 40 minutes or so, I didn’t settle down once. The plane was 30 minutes late; otherwise, mom thought I would have done just fine. Believe it or not there were two more 15-month-old babies on the plane. I played with the 15-month old boy by running around the airport with him and once on the plane I flirted with the 15-month old girl who sat behind me. In fact, I was crawling up mom and over the seat to get to her. Most people thought I was cute, but were probably hoping I would fall asleep like the baby baby across the aisle. No can do people, at least not on my 1st plane trip!

Once we landed, Aunt Jill drove us to her and Uncle Jason’s house. I was more than ready to go down for a nap, but wasn’t too keen on the idea being that it was a new place and all. Mom tried to put me down a couple of times, but I made it clear I wasn’t going to sleep. So, Aunt Jill invited her 6-month-old niece Emily over to visit and everyone discovered something new about me…I LOVE BABIES! Emily was quite the looker. She has a beautiful, porcelain-like face. I think I love her and wasn’t too shy about letting her know it. I would put my head on her head by bending down next to her. I would grin and giggle and say “ooohhh” when I knelt down by her. I also bowed at her feet and when placed on the ground to roll around I would lie down next to her and put my head on her. Seriously, do you think it was too much?

Aunt Jill planned a lot of fun activities for me this weekend. We went to three different parks, played in a pool, played with Emily, my girl friend, and her family. Side note: I warmed right up to Emily’s dad and grandparents. I sat next to Jeff, Emily’s dad, at dinner and would pat his back.

Overall, the best times this weekend were when Aunt Jill gave me yummy treats and filled my sippy cup back up when I was all done drinking my milk. Mom about had a heart attack, something about me not eating dinner now.

I need to say a couple of thank yous…Na Na, thank you for spoiling me this weekend and Aunt Jill you are the sweetest person I know. Uncle Jason, soon I will big enough to play catch and shoot hoops. Stay cool! Oh and sorry about rising so early in the morning. I really felt at home once I got over being in a new place. See you soon. Love, Rogan.

My Last Day of School

I loved my first year of school. Yesterday I brought home a booklet of all the paintings I did this year plus photos of me painting and playing. My teacher this year was Amie, but next year I get to have Teacher Josie. I love both of them very much. Josie greets me early in the morning with a smile and Amie allows me to run all around the room, slam into the wall, gawk at myself in the mirror, and put buckets or visors on my head.

As you can see from the pictures mom included I have grown up quite a bit. The picture on the left is my first day of school and the one on the left is my last day of school this year.

Mom also included pictures of my teachers Amie and Josie. Amie is on the right. It isn’t a very good picture because mom handed me off right when she got to daycare so she could snap a photo and I wasn’t having it. On the left though, mom got a picture of me with Josie early in the morning. I was in a really good mood because my friend DC got to school early so I had someone to play with.

When mom picked me up I was eating my snack. On my right is DC and on my left is Isaiah.

My teacher Amie walked me to my car and I got to say goodbye to everyone else on the way out. I’m not sure why today was such a big deal, but Teacher Amie and Josie were sad to say goodbye to me. They said I would be even bigger when they see me next year. Whatever, as long as mom and dad keep their promise that they are going to be home with me everyday for now on.

Wow, bubbles!

Today at daycare when my teacher was blowing bubbles I slowly said, "wow, bubbles." All the teachers said it was really cute.

Mom included a picture of me when I was 4 months old seeing my very first bubble.

She added a few more pictures of me at 4 months old. Did I mention that last Sunday I turned 15 months old?

My Spunk is Back!

Well, only one molar cut through, but I seem to be feeling better. I still throw a tantrum now and then, but I don't cry inconsolable for 5 minutes. So, now that I am feeling better I showed mom and dad last night how I am a big boy and rode my car around the dining room. I can go backwards and forwards and get on and off all by myself. They didn’t even teach me.

Of course, I still like to keep them on their toes, so every once in a while I try to knock over an end table. I give them this cute look, push the table a few times, and then walk off. I also figured out how to stand on my chair. Oops, I may have mentioned this before. And yes, I give them the same cute grin as I am standing atop my chair.

I am also trying to say more words. Na Na Daniels told mom I said “ball” today. I’m also picking up the meaning of words, such as when mom asks me if I am ready to get my milk, I drop my blanket and run for the kitchen. She always gets a kick out of that. And today when Na Na Daniels asked if I was ready for my morning nap, I went right to the door and waited for her to open it. Mom and dad can also point and tell me to pick something up and I go right to it, for instance, my blanket, books, a ball, and River, but she is kind of heavy.

Miserable

I'm having a terrible weekend. My first set of molars is coming in and I am in a lot of pain. Mom says I have huge bumps on my gums and one tooth has started to cut through my gum. Anything sets me off this weekend into a 5 minute + crying fit. I’m inconsolable and don’t want to be touched when I am flopping around the floor. I also bite on my fingers a ton.

Uh Oh!

Last week I threw my sippy cup on the floor, like I always do when I am done drinking and mom said, "uh oh!" I decided I would mimic her and surprise her by saying "uh oh" too. Mom thought that was pretty cute so we kept saying it to one another.

This morning I showed mom how I can stand on the chair I got for my birthday. She had this weird look on her face and started moving very slowly towards me. She called dad and told him and I over heard her saying she didn’t want to run to me for fear I would get excited and fall off backward. Moms, they worry too much.

School is almost out so that means I get to be with mom and dad 24/7. Although I have been fighting a high fever the last few days so mom has been home with me. Yippee! I still enjoy the park. I love to climb up the slide and walk through the big tubes. The swings are fun too, but I like to explore the other toys. I also like being on the grass now. Mom has been trying to garden so I get to walk around the backyard. I like to splash in River’s water bowl, but mom poured all the water out because I stuck my face in it. Seriously, can’t a boy have any fun?
