Drilling and Flying

When dad goes into the basement to work on his wood projects I like to tag along. He taught me how to use the drill press.

First, you turn it on.Mom included this picture because she likes how my goggles make my cheeks look even plumper.
Then, you pull the level down.

And last you turn the machine off.

I like bonding with dad.

For Christmas Aunt Jill bought me some spider man pajamas and uncle Jason bought me the actual spider man. When mom put my pajamas on tonight I figured they were the same old, boring ones I always wear, but then she told me to hold my arms out. And well, I can fly people.

Look at me!Here I am singing spider man to sleep.

Merry Christmas to me!

Oh boy was I a good boy this year. Look at all the presents Santa brought me.

Everyone, I means Santa, really seemed to know what I enjoy. I couldn't believe my eyes when I walked downstairs. I just stood there and then ran to a guitar I saw sitting there. It took me a while to stop playing my guitar and open my stocking. And then I went back to my guitar and played a little more. But before mom and dad knew it, I had figured out how to open all my gifts and everyone elses. I kept saying, "more presents." Mom was amazed at how well I could open all my gifts. I didn't even need help. And for the grand finally I got...

The best part of my Christmas wasn't the presents though, it was spending time with my aunt and uncle from Spokane. They work a lot so it is hard for them to come visit, but when they do I have so much fun with them. Today I saw a picture of my uncle Jason and asked mom if he could come see me. He is the best uncle. He chased me all over the house, played Wii with me, gave me high fives all the time and did I say he chased me around the house? That is by far my favorite thing to do and he would run with me forever. Mom kept saying to give him a break, but he kept going. Thanks uncle Jason!

Mickey Mouse, Reindeer AND Santa Claus!

Mom took me to a Christmas tree farm yesterday. She had heard it was quite the place to go for little kids. They have Santa, reindeer, goats, llamas, hot chocolate, hot dogs you name, BUT they were closed when we got there. Oops! I was so excited to see Santa because mom and I talked about it the entire drive there. The owner said Santa had left, but luckily he was at our local mall so we drove a little further to see him. But before leaving the tree farm the owner let us visit with the reindeer and animals. I thought the reindeer was pretty cool, but when mom tried to
get me to stand by it for a picture I ran away in fear. Have you seen the size of those antlers? Come on mom. I kept asking to go see the goats and well, one wanted to get a little closer to me. He was so cute.

Next it was off to see Santa where I informed him I would like Mickey Mouse for Christmas. Mom had this look on her face like "Oh $%@!. Rumor has it I am getting Little Einstein stuff for Christmas. A month ago when mom bought my gifts I was really into it, but I have been watching Mickey Mouse Christmas nonstop and am now all about Mickey. We'll see what Santa has to say.Another reason I was so excited to see Santa was because you get a candy cane afterwards. Here I am looking at the bowl. Santa said I could have one, but I offered him mine. He kindly reclined and said it was all for me. Santa is so thoughtful.
Over break dad has been doing some wood working and I like to help. But I do not like the loud noises so...I get to wear ear protectors and goggles. Mom tried to get a picture of me, but I still don't like my picture taken.

Here I am closing my eyes...
Here I am running away...

And here I am in my safe spot where nobody can find me...
Last but not least, dad was helping me fit as many Christmas hats as possible on my head.

And then it is kisses all around. Dad taught me that if you blow in River's face she gives kisses.

"Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree..."

I love singing Christmas songs. Dad bought a new piano book filled with Christmas songs so I get up on the piano and start belting out songs whenever I feel like it. When dad is home I point to the song I want him to sing with me. Some of my favorites are: "Jingle Bells" and "Oh Christmas Tree."

Mom bought this fun gingerread tree kit for us to make together. It was a lot of fun putting the icing on the cookies. I thought the icing tasted "real good," but the little candies they included were not so yummy. I did enjoy putting them on the tree though. I kept telling mom to grab some and help me out.

I got pretty thirsty after licking some of that yummy icing. Dad loved the icing so much he wanted mom to buy another gingerbread tree kit. She thought he was silly like me.

Oh and I gave mom and dad their Christmas present early. I told them each, separately, I loved them and with out in coaxing. Dad was carrying me upstairs to bed the other night and I kissed his face and said, "I love you dad." He was so happy. He told me, "that was the sweetest thing you've ever said to me Rogan." Mom was pouting in the bedroom, but I held out a little longer with her. Then, we she least expected it, I surprised her with those three little words moms love to hear. We were lying on the floor playing with sister and mom whispered in my ear "you are such a good boy Rogan." She then told me to whisper something in her ear and well...I told her "I love you mom." She melted right to the floor and was all giddy. And then she slobbered all over my face, a.k.a. gave me kisses. Yuck!

Aren't they cute? This is when I was in mommy's tummy.

Santa's Little Helper

I kept asking mom if we could open up our presents under the tree, but she says we have to wait for Christmas. She says it isn't here yet so I said, "Where did Christmas go?" Mom decided I needed a chart to help me understand when Christmas was coming. I used a cookie cutter to trace some trees and then I colored them in. Everyday I get to add one tree to the chart and when I fill it up I get to open presents. Apparently that is also Christmas day. Yippee for me!
After I put a tree on I count how many are on the chart. I am doing great at counting. I also know my alphabet. My teacher says I am great during circle time at school. I participate well by singing and dancing and raising my hand. Mom and dad are very proud of me. My teacher also said, "I get along famously with others." She said I am very sweet also.

One energetic boy

Recently I have started putting together puzzles. Mom has about 7 of those puzzles with knobs on the top. We put all the pieces in the basket. Then, I spread all my puzzles out and mom hands me one piece at a time. I am really good at finding where all the pieces go. Mom thought maybe I could put together this big boy puzzle too. She had to help me a lot, but it was fun. I think I get my ability to put puzzles together from GG (great grandmother). Rumor has it she isn't so bad herself.

Yeah Rogan!
Really I am a shower person, but lately I have enjoyed taking baths. I swim around, pretend like I am sleeping, blow bubbles, etc.

Nana and mom took me to ride on the Burgerville Train near our train station in Kelso. It was a lot of fun. Afterwards we went to the mall and I sat on Santa's lap. Then I got to play on all the rides. Nanny would put the quarters in the machine and the car/ train would start moving. When it stopped I would say, "It's out of batteries."

"I hear something. It's the train!"
Yummy, my favorite...icecream!

Mom has been trying to get me to sit still for a Christmas picture for months now. Good luck with that. As you can see her attempts have failed and if I have anything to do with it this year's Christmas card will have an old picture from last year on it. hee hee.

Mom I was just kidding. Will Santa still come bring me presents?
Yeah! Thanks mom.
